Terrazzo blends the durability of concrete with the latest in optical technology. Terrazzo contain acrylic fiber-optic channels embedded within concrete to transfer light from one point to another. As shadows move across Terrazzo’s surface, the light channels flicker with a randomized, twinkling effect. Terrazzo's versatility makes it adaptable almost anywhere where traditional tiles are used. Scintilla is a 100% acrylic material employing properties of total internal reflection to channel and redirect light hitting its surface. Hundreds of light guides are carved into a transparent block of acrylic polymer to create each piece. These light-conducting channels respond to moving light and shadow by picking up and dispersing nearby colors. Terrazzo Lumina and Scintilla Lumina are variations of the above in which an LED supplies the light that is transferred the entire length of the tile or panel. Jali is a line of light-refractive polymer panels which bends either ambient or produced light to create whimsical shadows.
